Alternative Civil Society Reports on the Implementation of SDG 16 and the 2030 Agenda in the Republic of Belarus — 2025

The Belarusian Helsinki Committee (BHC) has prepared an alternative report on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 16 by the Republic of Belarus — “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”. BHC also contributed to a coalition report on all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), developed by representatives of Belarusian civil society.

These documents are published in connection with Belarus’s Voluntary National Review presentation at the UN High-Level Political Forum in July 2025. The previous review was presented in 2022.

We prepared an alternative report on the implementation by the Republic of Belarus of Goal 16 “Peace, justice and effective institutions” of the 2030 Agenda and presented it in New York as part of the UN High-level Political Forum taking place there these days - a platform coordinating the implementation of the SDGs at the international level.

Within the framework of the High-level Political Forum, States submit their voluntary reports on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Belarus is also presenting its next report this year (the first one was in 2017).
